The Dummy Dinosaur
A heart-warming story that gives little ones a meaningful reason to say goodbye to their dummy.

Welcome to
The Dummy Dinosaur

Created by Susanna Smith, a UK Speech and Language Therapist, The Dummy Dinosaur storybook and accompanying colouring book gently encourage young children to say goodbye to their dummy, while bringing speech sounds to life through story and play.

Meet
The Dummy Dinosaur

While searching for tasty leaves, a lovable dinosaur discovers the most delicious leaves of all....  growing around the Yah-Yahs’ beautiful treetop village.

But there’s a problem… he can’t stop eating them!

With their homes at risk, the clever Yah-Yahs hatch a plan. They need something the dinosaur will love even more than their leaves…

And that’s where your child’s dummy comes in.

Meet
The Yah-Yahs

Tiny, forest-dwelling creatures who live high in the treetops and work together to protect their village.

When the Dummy Dinosaur’s love of leaves puts their home at risk, one brave little Yah-Yah inspires a clever plan and they discover that even the Dummy Dinosaur can’t resist a good dummy!

Roar, sing and stomp your way through speech sounds!

Explore Speech Sounds Through Play

The Dummy Dinosaur Speech Sounds Colouring Book brings the story to life while playfully exploring British English speech sounds.

Each page pairs a speech sound with an action inspired by the Dummy Dinosaur and the Yah-Yahs, encouraging children to move, make sounds, colour and play.

A simple guide helps adults explore how sounds are made, making speech sound practice fun and easy to weave into play.
